Have questions about how switching to clean energy works?
There are a large number of reasons why more and more people are switching to clean energy, some of which include:
Protect the environment for yourself and future generations. The most common reason is to shrink your personal carbon footprint and decrease the damage done to the environment through the use of non-renewable energy. More households using less energy (or cleaner) will eventually result in a reduction in damage to the ozone layer, helping improve our air quality and reduce and reverse the effects of climate change.
Use less energy. We're committed to helping you use less energy and are particularly fond of the motto, “the cleanest energy is the energy that you don’t use!”
Increase the demand for renewable energy. When you sign up for Inspire, we’re able to purchase and retire more renewable energy certificates (RECs) to match 100% of our members’ electricity consumption. One REC represents the environmental benefits of one megawatt hour of renewable energy. For every unit of renewable electricity generated, an equivalent amount of RECs are produced, and by purchasing and pairing RECs with your electricity service, you are supporting the continued use and development of renewable electricity. Increased demand for, and generation of, renewable electricity helps to reduce carbon emissions and provide other local and global environmental benefits in the region where the renewable electricity generator is located.
Signing up for an Inspire clean energy plan is easy and only takes a few minutes. If you'd like to sign up online, simply follow the steps below. Otherwise you can call us toll-free at (866) 403-2620 and we’ll walk you through the plan options available in your area.
Once you sign up, we take care of all the details and send you a copy of your service agreement via email or mail. If you are signing up for our retail electricity supply services, we will also notify your local utility about your request to switch.
Regardless of which plan you choose, Inspire calculates a personalized monthly subscription or fixed price per kilowatt hour plan based on factors including the size of your home and your energy consumption patterns.
With our retail electricity supply plans, your utility company will continue to manage the billing experience and you will continue to pay your utility each month. With our full-bill subscription plan, Inspire will bill you directly using the credit card you set up during sign-up and make payments to your utility on your behalf so you don’t have to.
There are no sign-up or cancelation fees when you join Inspire.
Inspire is the first and only company to deliver a customized flat-price, monthly subscription with unlimited access to 100% clean energy.
When you choose our digital experience provided by Inspire Digital Services USA, LLC and its subsidiaries, your entire utility bill becomes a simple, customized flat monthly subscription. With this plan, Inspire will bill you directly using the payment method you set up during the sign-up process and make payments to your utility on your behalf so you don’t have to. In addition, we’ll match your electricity usage with 100% renewable energy so that you can rest easy knowing that you’re helping avoid carbon emissions and getting closer to achieving a net-zero carbon home.
When you sign up for one of our retail electricity supply plans provided by Inspire Energy Holdings, LLC, Inspire becomes your electricity supplier. You’ll still pay your utility company directly like usual — the only difference is that you’ll see Inspire listed as your electricity supplier under the "supply" or “generation” section of your bill. This section is often listed after your distribution charges, which your utility still controls. If you have trouble finding Inspire on your next utility bill or have questions about how billing works on your specific plan, feel free to reach out to us and we’ll be happy to walk you through it!
In all cases, your local utility company will still be responsible for delivering energy to your home and handling any service interruptions.
Your utility company is still your primary contact for all matters related to the delivery of electricity to your home. Your utility is responsible for the distribution of power and any service disruptions, even when Inspire is your electricity supplier.
